makeup client prep guide
Get the most out of your makeup appointment!
To help your makeup go on smoother and last all day, please follow these simple steps before your appointment:
The Day Before Your Appointment:
1. Hydrate:
Drink plenty of water! Hydrated skin = glowing makeup.
2. Exfoliate Gently:
Use a gentle exfoliator to remove dead skin (especially around the nose, forehead, and chin). This helps prevent patchiness and texture.
3. Avoid Trying New Products:
Stick to what you know to prevent any surprise breakouts or reactions.
The Morning Of Your Appointment:
1. Cleanse Your Face:
Start with a clean face — free of makeup, oils, or residue.
2. Skip Moisturizer and SPF (if indoors or for photography):
Some SPFs can cause flashback in photos. If the event is indoors or for photography, skip it unless otherwise advised.
3. No Heavy Oils or Serums:
These can break down makeup faster.
4. Shave/Wax if Needed (at least 48 hours before):
If you plan on waxing, shaving, or dermaplaning your face, do it at least two days before to avoid redness or irritation.
Bonus Tips:
• Lips: Exfoliate and apply lip balm so your lipstick goes on smooth.
• Brows: Come with clean brows; avoid filling them in.
• Apparel: Wear a button up or loose shirt to easily get out of to not disturb your makeup and hair.
